Overview
OT Cyber Security Consultant – Sales Application role focusing on translating customer cyber security requirements into robust system solutions for plant-based GE equipment, including critical infrastructure such as Power Plants, Wind Farms, Mining & Metals, Offshore, Oil & Gas and Railway. Lead the full project lifecycle from offer preparation to on-site commissioning, with emphasis on OT (HMIs, PLCs, networking) and related engineering stations, data acquisition systems and remote access solutions.
Responsibilities
* Propose OT cyber security system upgrades and present them to customers.
* Support projects from the offer phase through implementation regarding cybersecurity.
* Assess requirements in critical infrastructure and develop measures to meet them.
* Advise on design/adaptation of system architecture according to customer specifications.
* Define configurations for devices (PC, switch, firewall) and OT components (HMIs, PLCs, monitoring stations).
* Coordinate and advise on site acceptance tests.
* Plan, conduct, and participate in cybersecurity meetings with customers and suppliers.
* Coordinate with colleagues across the UK, France, Germany, USA and India on procedures and guidelines for cybersecurity in industrial facilities.
* Travel up to 20% of work time domestically and occasionally internationally for technical meetings, site visits and customer visits (independently or as part of a team).
Essential Requirements
* Academic degree in Cyber Security, Controls & Automation, or Industrial Control Systems (or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience designing and integrating control & automation project solutions (HMI, PLC, ICS, SCADA).
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU, TCP/IP, OPC-UA, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, etc.).
* Strong understanding of industrial networking.
* Good knowledge of cybersecurity standards and industrial OT, particularly IEC 62443.
* Ability to configure hardened MS Windows environments, computer networks and PLC environments.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with customer service focus.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
* CCNA certificate.
* Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certificate.
* Experience with cybersecurity in the power industry.
Note: This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance or UK SC clearance) may be required as part of the hiring process.
