General Practitioner (Salaried with view to partnership)
We are looking for a GP to join our well established, vibrant and forward thinking practice in the heart of Mid Sussex. Candidates will be focused on providing great patient care whilst being dynamic and adaptable to meet the changes we will see in general practice over the coming years.
Main duties of the job
We currently have the opportunity for a GP to join us for 6-8 sessions per week initially salaried with a view to partnership.
About us
We are a training practice led by a strong partnership and management team with salaried GPs, ANPs and a range of other clinical staff to support us in our roles. We pride ourselves in providing a supportive working environment for all and meet regularly with the MDT to ensure a holistic approach to our care and opportunities for ongoing learning for all staff.
Cuckfield and The Vale Practice looks after 13,000 patients and is a dual site surgery based in Cuckfield and Haywards Heath. We are an active member of the flourishing Haywards Heath Villages PCN. All staff work over both sites and our visiting rates are low. We use SystmOne and Ardens and hope to grow our list size over the coming years. We are high QOF achievers.
Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Salaried GP in delivering health services
Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
To clinically examine and assess patient needs from aphysiological and psychological perspective and plan clinical care accordinglyreferring patients tootherservices/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice and any other localguidelines
Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Prioritisehealth problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex,urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergencycare
Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
Tosupport patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthylifestyles and apply principles of self-care
Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks
Reviewmedications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelinesand local care pathways
Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance
Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Supportthe delivery of anticipatory care plans
Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice
Acceptdelegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contributeeffective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinicalgovernance and training
Beaware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation andadhere to practice policies and procedures on Safeguarding Adults andSafeguarding Children
Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process
Prepareand complete the revalidation process to remain fit to practice
Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional developmentacross the practice team
Reviewand always adhere to practice protocols and policies
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
* n/a
Experience
* Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of providing home visits
* General understanding of the primary care contract
* Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
* An appreciation of the NHS landscape and relationship between individual organisations, PCNs and the commissioners
