£85,000 – £95,000 + bens + bonus
Aerial Exposure is a fast-growing owner-led business operating at the sharp end of drone technology. With a projected turnover of £65m for 2025/26, it is the largest entity within a broader group of companies, spanning multiple sectors. Following rapid growth driven by commercial drone sales, all operations are being consolidated at a major new development in Brompton-on-Swale near Richmond, North Yorkshire. The new hub will act as a focal point for all group activity, including manufacturing, assembly, sales, fulfilment, R&D and training.
Alongside the online and offline drone businesses, there is also a growing portfolio of investment property, including hospitality, leisure and commercial real estate.
As the group continues to grow, there is a requirement for a commercially focused Finance Director to bring additional control, visibility, clarity and commercial bandwidth to the myriad opportunities that present themselves.
Candidates need to be very hands-on to ensure financial controls and systems are accurate, robust and scalable but this role is about much more than control for control’s sake. It’s about enhancing insight and enabling confident decision-making, whilst protecting the entrepreneurial agility that has driven the company’s success.
The owner is a very personable and instinctive founder. Your job is not to rein him in, but to provide information and advice that will allow the business to move even faster, with more confidence and greater impact. Financial systems and controls are a significant part of the remit, but your real value lies in creating clarity, opportunity and foresight—without stifling the flair that defines the business.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative and commercially sharp finance professional who understands the rhythm of owner-led business. You’ll act as a trusted commercial sounding board, helping to shape strategy and uncover opportunity. You’ll know how to introduce structure without slowing things down.
Applicants must be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) and have previous experience in a senior finance role within an entrepreneurial or owner-managed setting. You’ll be credible, emotionally intelligent, and commercially astute—able to build strong relationships, influence decisions, and provide clarity in a fast-changing environment.
