Description
To manage a team of water meter engineers within the Water Metering contract for STW. To ensure successful delivery of the metering projects within the team, while maintaining the highest Customer Service and Health and Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment and absence management.
2. Manage all other resources, e.g., materials and plant.
3. Coach and develop staff to reach their potential.
4. Carry out team briefings with teams.
5. Monitor staff performance to specifications and working instructions.
6. Liaise with the client and other project stakeholders, including:
* Arranging and attending programme meetings.
* Meeting clients' requirements in a cost-effective way.
* Providing client progress updates.
* Meeting councils, surveyors, site managers, and client's staff as required.
1. Maximise plant and vehicle utilisation.
2. Manage, control, and reduce wastage of materials.
3. Take ownership of the overall process—think ahead, determine, and implement efficient working methods.
4. Take responsibility for plant management.
5. Liaise with and manage subcontractors working on the contract, ensuring compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.
6. Act as a Health & Safety Representative, including conducting safety inspections, raising safety concerns with management, and investigating reportable incidents.
7. Utilise the GARD system continuously to organise work, reduce costs, and ensure smooth daily operations.
8. Control plant sheets, ensuring accurate logging and data collation.
Experience and Qualifications
* Computer literate.
* Experience in Utilities.
* Financial and commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
