About The Role
Balfour Beatty’s Regional Build team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Pre-Construction/Bid Manager to join us in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and securing some of the North West’s most impactful building projects.
As a Pre-Construction Manager, you’ll lead the early phases of our projects—working closely with estimators, planners, designers, commercial teams, and clients to develop robust, innovative, and deliverable proposals. You’ll be central to driving strategic bid responses, managing pre-construction programmes, and ensuring that our solutions reflect the highest standards of safety, sustainability, buildability, and value.
What you'll be doing
As a Pre-Construction/Bid Manager You Will
* Leading multidisciplinary bid teams to produce high-quality, competitive submissions for regional build projects.
* Developing clear bid strategies and win themes that respond to client needs and market insights.
* Managing timelines, governance, and deliverables to ensure seamless bid coordination and compliance.
* Working closely with design, estimating, and planning teams to shape technical and commercial solutions.
* Producing clear, persuasive, and well-structured written content that demonstrates value and capability.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
* Coaching and supporting less experienced bid managers, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Who we're looking for
You Will Have The Following
* Poven experience in bid or pre-construction management within the construction or built environment sectors.
* A successful track record of leading bids for regional building projects (education, healthcare, commercial, or mixed-use).
* Strong understanding of design development, construction planning, and cost management.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
* The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
* A collaborative approach and commitment to high standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
