This role as the Credit Risk Manager sits within the Centrica Group Credit Risk function and involves taking operational responsibility of delivering high value credit risk underwriting throughout the Centrica group. Collaborating with key business unit stakeholders and operational teams, promoting active risk management that supports our growth strategy whilst minimising any bad debt losses. Location - Flexible The Role Supporting senior managers and directors in understanding emerging themes, utilising financial analysis to make proactive recommendations and assurances for credit risk issues. Ensure that credit risk management processes are embedded within the respective BU's for high value exposures. Undertake regular and irregular customer life cycle reviews to assess the suitability of original unsecured or secured credit decision. Have a clear understanding of the credit risk policy and techniques used to mitigate credit risk. Excellent analytical and report writing skills with an ability to clearly articulate and communicate credit decisions and justify outcomes. Undertake rating assessments, using both external tools and proprietary internal rating tools. Provide independent and robust recommendations to Senior Management on large key counterparty risks. Undertake comprehensive and detailed credit assessment of new acquisitions for Centrica business units in the UK&I, Europe and North America. Conduct the credit risk evaluation at renewal including in-cycle contract credit reviews on all key counterparties. Thorough understanding of supply chain risk for strategic and critical procurement contracts that support Centrica and its business units. Ability to understand and evaluate the credit risk associated to long term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). Contracts. Commercial acumen to review commercial deal structures evaluating payback periods and IRR as well as an ability to understand complex commercial and contractual issues regarding credit risk provisions. Qualifications and Experience Proven track record in Counterparty Credit Risk Analysis, with experience in a similar senior role within the Credit Insurance or financial services industry. A solid understanding of corporate finance, financial markets, and industry trends, particularly in relation to corporate credit risk management. In-depth understanding of credit risk principles, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to assess complex credit risk profiles and make sound underwriting decisions. Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct comprehensive credit risk analyses, identify potential risks, and propose effective risk mitigation strategies. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and remain resilient under pressure while maintaining a high standard of work. Experience of working a varied workload, and prioritising demands form multiple stakeholders. Lead, build and develop a team of credit underwriters, providing specialist analytical support to achieve sustainable profitable growth across Centrica.
