Description
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of a team to maintain commercial information associated with the contract. You will input and analyze cost and project information, assist in compiling Management Information and Reports, produce weekly updates on the client’s financial performance, and review subcontractor payment recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and monitor actual work activities against the schedule, including items supplied and costs.
* Monitor staff, labor, and plant hire rates with subcontractors, compile weekly cost reports, and manage cost allocation.
* Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in organizing and tracking contractor procurement.
* Prepare and seek internal governance approval for subcontractor payments.
* Assist in placing subcontract task orders per the main contract.
* Attend operational and subcontractor meetings, monitor subcontractor progress against the program.
* Assist in preparing final accounts for clients and contractors in accordance with the contract.
* Keep the Risk Register and Change Register updated.
* Support Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs with compensation events and contract administration.
* Monitor internal expenditure against budgets and enhance reporting techniques and systems.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Recent graduate in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Negotiation and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Strong commercial acumen.
