Role Description
I’m working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Stevenage that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Senior OR Assistant Manager to support its leadership team.
This is a senior-level role with responsibility across accounts, VAT and taxation, alongside managing a client portfolio and playing a key part in mentoring and developing junior staff. You’ll act as a main point of contact for clients, ensuring high standards of service and compliance are consistently delivered

What you’ll do
* Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of accounts, VAT returns and tax filings
* Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
* Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns
* Liaise on VAT matters, including reviewing returns and advising on compliance and schemes
* Review work produced by junior staff, providing feedback, training and ongoing mentorship
* Assist with workflow planning, deadline management and client onboarding
What you’ll need
* Extensive experience within a UK accountancy practice
* Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, personal and corporate tax
* Experience supervising, mentoring or training junior staff
* ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience considered)
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
