About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 5 SCP 8 – 12. £26,824 to £28,598 per annum (pro rata)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Main Place of Work: Civic Office, Barry and other locations in the Vale of Glamorgan as required to undertake the post including hybrid working.
Responsibilities
* Enhance positive and pro‑active relationships with existing and prospective private landlord partners and letting agents to maintain and increase the supply of Private Rented housing available to the Council.
* Maintain a register of suitable temporary accommodation available to the Council for use as emergency housing.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in housing in the voluntary, statutory or private sector.
* Experience of letting or managing tenancies in the private rented or social housing sector.
* Experience of supporting customers with financial difficulties.
* Experience of liaising with statutory, non‑statutory and voluntary agencies.
* Knowledge of homelessness legislation and landlord and tenant law.
* General knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a social landlord.
* Knowledge of the private rented sector, especially around Assured Shorthold Tenancies.
* Knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefits system.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
