A friendly primary school in Nottingham is recruiting an engaging Year 1 Teacher to start January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will deliver a carefully sequenced early-years-to-KS1 curriculum that secures rapid progress in phonics, reading, emergent writing and number sense. The successful Year 1 Teacher will work closely with teaching assistants and the KS1 leader to plan targeted interventions and to maintain effective learning environments. Responsibilities Plan and deliver structured Year 1 lessons promoting phonics progression and early literacy. Use daily assessment to inform targeted group work and to close learning gaps. Work alongside support staff to deliver differentiated activities and scaffold learning. Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to families and leaders. Participate in curriculum moderation and whole-school events. Person specification Qualified teacher with experience in early years or KS1 and strong phonics knowledge. Organised, reflective and able to create a positive, inclusive classroom culture. Committed to working with families and the wider Nottingham community.
