We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Caretaker/Janitor to join our Northampton schools account at Spring Lane Primary School, Spring Ln, Northampton NN1 2JW. This role is on-site based.
The salary is £13.08 per hour
The standard hours of work are 25 hours per week – 2pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to Northampton Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 42 schools (five secondary and 37 primary).

You will be responsible for
1. Ensuring the smooth running of the school premises
2. Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
3. Ensuring heating, lighting, and alarm systems are working properly
4. Checking that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
5. Guarding against vandalism
6. Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
7. Litter picking and general external area cleaning

* Knowledge and experience in practical DIY skills for minor repairs
* A good team player
* Flexible with shift work
* Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site clients and employees
* This role will also support local and business zero-carbon programs, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
* Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
