Location: Flexible within Scotland but will involve regular travel to the Glasgow office

As a Senior Underwriter, you’ll be handling business across our existing portfolio while helping us grow by onboarding new customers. This means you’ll be in a Market facing role, so it’s important that you are great at communicating and have a built-in passion for doing the right thing for our customers.
We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.
Key responsibilities:
1. Underwriting and analysing existing business in a market-facing role.
2. Support in driving new business by identifying and onboarding new customers.
3. Provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders, delivering quality and timely solutions.
4. Take ownership of your workload and support colleagues to deliver our collective workload - it’s all about being a team player!
5. Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting their development.
6. Drive, analyse, and deliver strong underwriting results across our portfolio.
7. Identify and suggest improvements to boost the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes.
What we’re looking for:
8. Well-established casualty or property underwriting experience.
9. In-depth knowledge of casualty or property insurance policies, regulations, and underwriting guidelines.
10. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
11. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex information.
12. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Adaptability to different workloads and pressures, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
14. Customer-centric mindset, always keeping the customer foremost in mind.
