Overview: As a Debt Recovery Solicitor or CILEX Fellow with Litigation Practice Rights, you will be the technical lead for our Enforcement team, dealing with high-volume, small claims and taking responsibility for the conduct of litigation undertaken. We are looking for a technically robust litigator who thrives in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. You must be comfortable working and supervising at scale. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will ensure legal integrity and compliance across a large caseload while driving operational efficiency. This is a hybrid role where you will be required to attend our Chorley office at least 2 days a week. Responsibilities & Duties: Act as the final technical authority for the conduct of litigation, ensuring all reserved legal activities are executed by you or other authorised personnel. Draft, review and sign off on high volumes of pleadings, statements of case, applications and other court documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the team. Provide technical guidance and feedback to the Enforcement team, ensuring their work meets regulatory standards. Collaborate with management to refine workflows and litigation processes to handle high volumes without compromising compliance. Develop and deliver technical training to upskill members of the Enforcement team, focusing on Civil Procedure Rules relevant to small claims. Monitor professional obligations and SRA/CILEX compliance, identifying and mitigating systemic risks within high-volume workflows. Qualifications and skills: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or CILEX Fellow with Litigation Practice Rights, with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE. Proven track record in high-volume litigation, specifically in small claims or debt recovery. Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and Debt Pre-Action Protocols. Knowledge of MCOL. An ability to work to deadlines / targets. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance legal compliance with the need for operational speed. Ideally experience in supervising junior staff within a high-volume setting; ability to provide clear, actionable feedback under tight deadlines. Strong legal, analytical and attention to details skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
