Lease Process Transformation Project Lead – 7 Month Fixed Term Contract

Working within a significant internal transformation project, the role will be responsible for successful delivery of phase 3 of our Lease Transformation.
Overall objective of the project is to design and implement a best practice, end-to-end, technology enabled lease management and accounting process to encompass as a minimum:
•Lease onboarding post-acquisition from M&A activity
•Lease vs buy decision and approval for new purchases where required
•Business operational lease management
•In-life lease adjustments/amendments – e.g. CPI adjustments, rent extensions
•Lease accounting technology – inc. potential Oracle Lease Accounting implementation
•Lease termination or transfer
•Lease management Target Operating Model design, agreement and implementation
•Full compliance with IFRS16 and local GAAP (where required for local statutory accounts)
This role is being offered on a 7-month fixed term contract basis.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Providing oversight and day-to-day direction of the cross-finance Lease Process Transformation project team, this role will ensure the project scope is successfully delivered on time and within the approved budget.
* Expected key accountabilities and responsibilities as follows:
- Full assessment and documentation of as-is process
- Stakeholder engagement across the business to understand both global lease management and accounting needs, plus local market tax, legislation and statutory (TLS) needs
- Design of global lease management and accounting end-to-end process including Target Operating Model, ways of working and compliance monitoring – process must be compliant with IFRS16
- Design of any TLS adaptations to the global process
- Key stakeholder in Oracle Lease Accounting implementation in FaST Programme ERP workstream, from design workshops to implementation
- Prepare and present governance and presentation collateral for all project engagement, from stakeholder sessions to design authorities across both finance and technology
- Lead socialisation and approval of global and local designs with relevant stakeholders
- Implementation of approved global and local designs, including supporting resourcing and reporting
- Successfully embed new processes into BAU environment with documented processes, RACIs and reporting
- Ensure identified process changes and learnings from Lease Transformation phase 2d, (covering control account reconciliation and clearance), shared by the project lead are considered appropriately.
* Ensure any perceived complexities, issues or existing exceptions escalated promptly
* Lead Governance calls according to Project Goldfinch Governance, and manage senior stakeholder progress reports
* Be a champion of the project
* Any other tasks as required
Experience/Qualifications:
* Qualified Accountant
* IFRS16 technical knowledge
* Strong process transformation experience in complex, multi-country environments
* Delivery focussed with a proven track record of project delivery to time and budget requirements
* Strong, clear and concise communication skills with the confidence to present and challenge senior stakeholders
* Ability to quickly cut through complex landscapes and drive focus on solutions within large groups
* Ability to challenge status quo with strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel, and proficient Powerpoint
* Ability to work proactively and autonomously
* Deadline-focused and willing to put in the extra effort, as required
* Prepared to support team members in ensuring the project milestones are met
* Must have strong analytical experience
* Financially minded, with a strong attention to detail and able to deliver 'right-first-time' results quickly without getting lost in the detail
* A desire to be part of the project delivering true change to the Finance Function
* The ability to encourage effective team building, and to manage and influence multinational, cross functional and cross organisational teams in a project environment
* Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
* Open to travel, as required by the project
* Six Sigma, or equivalent/similar, qualification
* Previous experience of Business Process Outsourcing
