Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Visual Impairment (VI) Support at Chatsworth High School and Community College, Salford. Part time, Permanent. Salary: £29,540.00 - £31,537.00 plus SNA2 Allowance pro rata. Expires 03/10/2025.


About the Role

Chatsworth High School and Community College is an Outstanding special school for pupils aged 11–19 years. The school seeks a committed, compassionate, and proactive Teaching Assistant Level 3 to provide dedicated support for pupils with visual impairments, enabling access to the curriculum and fostering independence.

Part of the Sovereign Trust, the school serves children and young people with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism, in Eccles, Salford, Lancashire, M30 9DY. We offer a welcoming and inclusive school community with opportunities for bespoke continuous professional development.


Responsibilities

* Provide dedicated support for pupils with visual impairments to enable access to the curriculum and foster independence.
* Work within the school’s ethos to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential, contributing to a caring and supportive learning environment.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams to plan and deliver effective learning activities for pupils with SEND.
* Support pupils with additional needs to achieve progress and high learning standards.


Qualifications and Attributes

* Passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
* A good understanding of SEND and the learning needs of children with visual impairments.
* High expectations and the ability to ensure good learning and progress for all children.
* Strong commitment to teamwork and a collaborative approach to education.


Details

* Start date: As soon as possible
* Grade 2C, SCP 14-18, £29,540.00 - £31,537.00 plus SNA2 Allowance (pro rata for term time only)
* Hours: 33.5 per week, Monday–Friday, Term Time only + 5 training days
* Contract: Permanent
* Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contribution
