We’re seeking a talented Sushi Chef to join our award-winning culinary team at Gilpin Spice, the vibrant Pan-Asian restaurant within Gilpin Hotel & Lake House. Michelin-recommended and renowned for its open kitchen theatre, bold flavours, and luxurious yet playful approach to Asian cuisine, Gilpin Spice offers an inspiring platform for culinary creativity.
What You’ll Be Doing as Sushi Chef:
1. Prepares and presents exquisite sushi with meticulous attention to detail.
2. Innovates seasonal menus that blend authenticity with creative flair, complementing Gilpin Spice’s Pan-Asian concept.
3. Upholds the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation.
4. Collaborates with our Executive Head Chef and mentors junior kitchen staff.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
5. Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-end or Michelin-recommended kitchen.
6. Expertise in traditional and modern sushi techniques.
7. A calm, focused approach and a passion for culinary excellence.
8. A flair for visual artistry and a deep respect for ingredients, provenance, and sustainability.
9. Passion for continuous learning and culinary excellence.
10. Calm under pressure, with an eye for detail and consistency.
11. Charismatic presence and a genuine love for hospitality.
12. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Additional Information
Salary: £35,000
Gratuities are allocated on a points basis, depending on development tiers. Although variable, average levels are projected as being from £550 per month.
