Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arising for a Service Manager position in Cardiology, mainly based at Wycombe Hospital. The Service Manger will support the General Manager by providing day-to-date operational management supper in service areas agreed by the General Manager.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for providing timely, efficient, and effective operational management support, with the overall aim of ensuring that services are responsive, and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards

He/she will support the development and implementation of projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas and will help to ensure that performance and quality targets are met. The postholder will also be involved in cost improvement programmes.

1. Education and training to Degree level or equivalent experience

3. Experience of relevant NHS operational management
4. Staff management experience
5. Knowledge of performance
6. Experience in governance and risk management
7. Experience of inter-agency and partnership working
8. Able to analyse and interpret complex information and problem solve
9. Experience in budget and HR issues
10. Evidence of delivering on objectives
11. Up-to-date knowledge of NHS policy
12. Experience of leading on projects

13. Strong analytical and judgement skills, with the ability to interpret complex situations and make appropriate decisions
14. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with other health and social care professionals, patients, carers and the public
15. Confident, motivated, positive and approachable
16. Strong IT skills – including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
17. Good presentation skills / public speaking
18. Ability to work autonomously without supervision
19. Ability to cope with large workloads, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
20. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
21. Ability to adapt to the demands of a constantly changing environment and flexible approach to work

Special Circumstances

22. Able to travel between sites and throughout Bucks, as required by the service
