Overview
Data Center Shift Relief Engineer role at CBRE. Location: Hayes, England, United Kingdom. This position covers shifts when resident engineers are on annual leave or absent; duties include planned maintenance, reactive works to building infrastructure/plant, and responding to site engineering requests and emergencies.

Responsibilities
* Cover annual leave on the contract to ensure operations continue smoothly.
* Carry out routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed service levels.
* Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
* Issue and enforce controls within the Permit to Work system.
* Follow applicable ACOPs (associated with the maintenance industry).
* Ensure spares are available to maintain listed plant.
* Prepare and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
* Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and site processes.
* Maintain good working relationships with CBRE staff and client staff.
* Provide a safe and healthy working environment and comply with all company, client site policies, procedures, and working arrangements.
* Present a professional image of CBRE and deliver excellent customer service at all times.
* Maintain professional and technical skills through ongoing personal development and lifelong learning.
* Keep logbooks, shift handovers, and client reporting up to date.
Accountabilities
* Accountable to the Contract Manager and Site Supervisor.
* No directly reporting staff.
* No direct budgetary responsibility.
* Responsible for maintaining appropriate stocks of spares and consumables, with secure storage and controlled issue.
Person Specification
Education - A good basic education with good written and spoken English and basic mathematics skills.
Training/Experience - Formal training in mechanical and electrical services maintenance or equivalent; City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2 (or later), 17th Edition or equivalent qualification. Up-to-date skills in building management systems, ACOPs, fire and environmental control, building control, and health and safety.
Experience
* Experience in mission-critical facilities maintenance, including UPS systems, BMS operation, emergency standby generators, and testing of electrical systems.
* Comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering experience, including reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
* Strong understanding of health and safety obligations related to maintenance activities.
Aptitudes
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Organised with good written English skills.
* Strong computer skills for reporting and logging PPMs, work reports, and incidences in the client system.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Ability to learn and develop technical knowledge and understanding of local organisational systems and processes.
