About The Role
Ventus Energy are seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer to join a talented team of personnel within our Projects Division; responsible for delivering high‑voltage cable installations, jointing, termination and testing and fibre optic installations across a range of HV infrastructure projects – and contribute to our ongoing successful project acquisitions.
A Tendering Engineer at Ventus Energy will work alongside our tendering team based at our Head Office in North Shields and will be involved in the entire lifecycle of a bid; from the initial client request to the final contract award.
Key Responsibilities
* Bid Management: Overall management and tracking of all aspects of the bid and tendering lifecycle.
* Technical & Commercial Review: Reviewing detailed RFQ packages, interpreting client specifications, and ensuring compliance with client requirement.
* Viability Evaluation: Assessing project viability from both technical and practical perspectives.
* Client Communication: Managing communications with clients and aligning on technical and commercial clarifications.
* Bid Development: Development of Commercial and Technical Proposals and Tenders
* Internal Collaboration: Working with project managers, the supply chain, and contracts teams to ensure accurate costing and a smooth handover of awarded contracts to the project department.
* Bid Delivery: Submission of Proposals to the client, either via client portals or via email.
* Process Improvement: Contributing to the continuous improvement of tendering processes and systems.
Development & Support
We understand that the right candidate may have relevant experience in a different sector. On‑the‑job training will be provided to assist with the learning curve of the role, to help those who may have the desired skills but may not be familiar with the specific requirements of the offshore wind industry.

Required Criteria
* Specific experience and proven track record in tendering and proposals
* Familiarity in electrical engineering
* IT literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint etc.)
* Team player
* Strong verbal and written communications
* Organisation skills
* Attention to detail
* Right to work in the UK
Desired Criteria
* Experience within the offshore engineering industry
* Familiarity of termination and testing methodology in the offshore wind sector
* Familiarity with offshore wind terminology and specifications
* HV Engineering background
* Understanding of electrical testing
* Contractually astute and strong commercial acumen
* Familiarisation with MS Project and Planning/CAD Systems
