The role
Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year Requirements: 2 years of experience with Ruby on Rails and production code University degree in Computer Science or a related subject, or certified developer training Strong understanding of Ruby syntax and its nuances Solid understanding of object-oriented programming Experience working remotely as part of a small team Clear, friendly communication skills Ability to write clean, readable code Understanding of the design principles behind scalable applications Based in the UK within 2 hours travel time of Brighton Able to attend monthly company meetings in Brighton Experience with AWS services, particularly S3 and ECS, is a plus Experience with Git and continuous integration tools is a plus Experience with Heroku is a plus Responsibilities: Develop features and improvements to our product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way Analyze and interpret complex data to produce actionable recommendations Collaborate with Technology Leadership and Engineering stakeholders to maintain high quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity Write code that meets our standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment Maintain and advocate for coding standards through code review Ship small to medium-sized features and improvements with minimal guidance Collaborate with the team on larger projects Participate in customer support to resolve customer issues promptly Help teammates troubleshoot product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues Carry out development tasks as part of a 6-week development cycle Plan and architect solutions for medium to large-scale product enhancements Answer support queries from clients and internal colleagues Perform code reviews of peer work Participate in design discussions for new features and system improvements Technologies: AWS Architect Git Heroku Support Rails Ruby Security Web Cloud Docker ElasticSearch JavaScript Terraform More: We are Zivio, a rapidly growing and ambitious procure-tech startup building an award-winning Rails application.
