We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bank Sexual Health Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Coventry and Warwickshire Sexual Health Hub. As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality sexual health services to our diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will include conducting non-invasive clinical tasks, such as taking patient histories, processing samples, and offering valuable information and advice on sexual health matters. You will also be instrumental in maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring a safe and respectful environment, and helping patients access appropriate care and treatment.This role does require flexibility & drivers licence with access to a vehicle, as travel to various locations across the service in Coventry and Warwickshire will be expected. Provide first point of contact to patients assessed as requiring asymptomatic screening management Undertake necessary tests including phlebotomy, urinalysis and instruction to patients regarding self-testing for STI's and long-term conditions such as HIV (where required)Be willing to undergo further training that will enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for patientsUndertake microscopy following approved training to support the management of clinical symptoms and report finding to the clinician responsible for care. Assist with the correct collection and recording of specimens Offer advice and education to patients regarding safe sex practices and offer information regarding further help and advice Perform condom demonstration to clients and understand the importance of education Perform pregnancy testing and urinalysis following instruction from Clinical colleagues Assist Clinical staff as necessary including recording of blood pressure, height, weight and BMI.Please see job description attached for full list of responsibilities. The Ideal CandidateQualifications:NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)Care Certificate (desirable)Experience & Knowledge:Recent experience working in a patient-facing or customer service settingPrevious experience within a sexual health service (desirable)Understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and dignity in careAwareness of equality, diversity, and inclusive practicesSkills & Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication, particularly with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teamsAble to provide individualised, empathetic care to patientsStrong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload independentlyAttention to detail and commitment to high standards of carePersonal Qualities:Flexible and adaptable to changing service demands, including evenings, weekends, and outreach clinicsCalm under pressure with the ability to adjust to a fast-paced environmentTrustworthy, patient, and compassionateProfessional and respectful approach to patient interactionsOther Requirements:Full UK driving licence and access to a car for travel between clinic bases and outreach locationsAbout The CompanyWe change lives by transforming health and care.
