Our inpatient CAMHS is expanding to include a brand-new purpose built 8 bed High Intensity Environment/PICU opening in 2026 at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth.
We would love to hear from you if you are a registered Mental Health Nurse, either with CAMHS experience or looking to gain, and we also welcome newly qualified professionals through our preceptorship programme.
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse you will work directly with young people and their families, providing assessments and therapeutic work within the Thrive framework. Your aim will be to deliver outstanding care and promote recovery and wellbeing in a modern, purpose‑built setting, making a positive change in the lives of the young people you support.
The Staff Nurse role is a full‑time post of 37.5 hours per week for a 24‑hour service. Part‑time working (22.5 hours) is also considered and can be discussed at interview.
Shift Patterns
* Early – 07:00 to 15:00
* Late – 12:00 to 20:00
* Twilight – 16:00 to 00:00
* Nights (enhanced pay) – 19:30 to 07:30

The role will be based in the Adolescent In‑patient Unit providing individual care to those within the unit in accordance with the integrated care programme approach.
You will work in accordance with the Trust Clinical Governance programme, informing the Senior Clinical Nurse of any changes that affect standards of care.
All activities within the unit, including food preparation and supervision of meals, will be undertaken by you.
You will assist in organising outside activities in line with the Clinical Risk policy and be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of young people on external activities.
You will develop effective liaison and communication with all disciplines, agencies, parents/carers and service users, giving sound advice and support to service users and their carers as appropriate in line with professional practice.
You must undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course. Completion of this course is a condition of employment; failure to complete means you will not be able to commence working in the post.
