Role Overview
The role is within the Tax team, focusing on indirect tax compliance, governance, and controls across the global business. It ensures the effective operation of end-to-end VAT compliance and reporting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations. The role involves identifying process improvement opportunities, working closely with the Tax Transformation Team on process enhancements and automation, and line managing a small team to deliver the indirect tax compliance agenda. Collaboration with the indirect tax advisory senior manager is essential to implement and test changes to compliance processes and systems, ensuring ongoing legislative compliance.
The Details
* Manage compliance processes end-to-end, including timely and accurate reporting and payments for all indirect tax returns, liaising with outsourced compliance providers, accounts payable, and financial accounting teams.
* Supervise and develop a small team (approx. 3 members).
* Work with senior management to set strategic direction for indirect tax functions.
* Implement and test process and system changes to ensure VAT compliance and accurate reporting.
* Deliver VAT training to the wider finance team.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of indirect tax processes and controls.
* Provide support and insights to answer queries from HMRC and other authorities.
* Collaborate with the Tax Transformation Team, Fintech, and other teams to identify and resolve data risks and issues.
* Lead initiatives to improve processes, including automation projects, and ensure documentation is maintained.
* Support external auditors with necessary documentation.

About You
* Tax accounting qualification (ATT, ACCA, or ACA) with at least 8 years of experience.
* Experience managing UK and global indirect tax compliance and accounting processes.
* Proven success in building and leading effective teams.
* Experience handling tax authority enquiries and audits.
* Strong planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Flexibility, openness to change, and proactiveness.
