Position Summary

Pipe Fitter will lead by example, reporting to the Shift Manager to meet team objectives and business needs. The Pipe Fitter will highlight areas of concern or opportunities to the Shift Manager, and ensure that all company standards, policies and procedures are adhered to, reporting any queries to the Shift Manager for effective resolution.


Responsibilities

* Adhere to all Oceaneering safety policies and Lifesaving rules. Demonstrate Safe Start behaviors daily and participate in Toolbox Talks. Ensure risk assessments are read, understood and signed before work begins.
* Own personal wellbeing, behaviors and performance; ensure changes to processes are covered through relevant programs.
* Assist in incident investigations, securing the area to prevent repeat injuries and following HS0020 Incident Management Level 3 procedures.
* Be accountable for daily performance targets and communicate any issues to the Shift Manager.
* Own delegated tasks to meet production targets; highlight downtime costs to other functions as needed.
* Encourage improvements from the team to improve production schedules and ensure checks are completed prior to startup using the Clean Sweep and/or Preprocess Audit techniques.
* Help drive product quality improvements with Process Engineering and Manufacturing management.
* Report maintenance issues to maintenance and inform the Shift Manager for follow-up.
* Ensure data in the production package is correct and that special instructions are understood before starting tasks.
* Maintain good documentation practices and adhere to the Production Inspection Plan, client hold points, and any client witness requirements.
* Assure a safe, clean environment and housekeeping in production areas; ensure kits and tools are prepared and returned appropriately.
* Participate in Engineering Handovers & Design Reviews and raise issues early.
* Mentor and assess current and future personnel; comply with standards, wellbeing, and training requirements when acting for the Shift Manager.
* Safely contribute to other departments as needed.


Non-essential

* Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

* Background in a heavy manufacturing environment.
* Some knowledge of a Manufacturing background; not essential.
* Pipe Fitting qualifications such as NVQ / City & Guilds.
* Experience prepping/forming Small Bore Tubing.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

* Adherence to safety and special instructions at all times.
* Provide constructive feedback on safety or process improvements.
* Cooperate in safety or process-related issues and follow procedures.
* Ability to mentor and assess personnel; proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
