An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Radiology team as the Imaging Quality and Service Improvement (QSI) Lead. This role has been created to support delivery of the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) programme and wider quality improvement ambitions across Imaging services, contributing to delivery of Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) programme objectives and continuous service improvement. Working collaboratively with Radiology Team Leads, clinical leaders and operational teams, the post holder will facilitate the effective delivery of clinical governance through robust quality management systems and improvement methodology within the departmental governance framework. The role will support the development of safe, effective and patient-centred imaging services by strengthening quality assurance processes, embedding evidence-based practice, supporting regulatory and accreditation requirements, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. A key aspect of the role will be supporting patient experience and facilitating patient partnership in service evaluation and redesign., This role requires specialist knowledge and experience in imaging quality improvement, governance and service development, with particular focus on implementation and coordination of the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) programme. The post holder will act as a visible advocate for quality improvement and support teams to embed sustainable change that improves patient safety, staff experience and service delivery.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
