Credit Control Assistant Location: Ross-on-Wye Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 (DOE and qualifications) Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Reports to: Senior Credit Controller Join Our Team and Help Support Outstanding Financial Performance We are looking for an organised, detail-driven and proactive Credit Control Assistant to join our busy finance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining healthy cash flow, supporting effective credit control processes, and ensuring accurate financial administration across our group businesses. Whether you’re setting up new clients, managing credit notes, liaising with internal teams, or strengthening customer relationships, you’ll help ensure the smooth, compliant and efficient financial operations we rely on. What You’ll Do Manage the end-to-end process for new client setup on the finance system. Process credit notes and maintain accurate financial spreadsheets and supporting documents. Proactively chase overdue customer payments via professional email and telephone communication. Distribute regular email statements, reminders, and copy invoices. Investigate non-payment issues and work closely with operational teams to resolve queries promptly. Conduct initial credit checks and support the Senior Credit Controller with administrative tasks and reporting. Help maintain customer account accuracy and ensure all finance processes follow internal compliance standards. What You’ll Bring At least 1 year’s experience in credit control or a similar finance administration role. High accuracy, consistency and attention to detail. Calmness under pressure and confidence managing multiple priorities at once. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and customers. A proactive mindset, with the ability to investigate issues and see tasks through to completion. Adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to learn and grow within the finance function. Qualifications GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths — Grade C/4 or above. Finance or credit control–related training is beneficial but not essential.
