The post holder will be responsible for data collection, validation, and submission of quality data for participation in the Case Mix Programme, Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre, London (ICNARC) (national comparative audit programme).
The post holder will also handle data collection, validation, and submission of quality data to the Critical Care Minimum Dataset (CCMDS) Department of Health (DOH).
The Data Clerk officer plays a vital role within the Critical Care Department, facilitating the delivery of quality care and improved patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring quality and robust clinical audit/data collection in line with Trust policies and procedures.
2. Maintaining and organizing data systems and audit trails to ensure accurate recording of patient pathway data relevant to quality metrics and hospital episodes.
3. Accurately recording and updating all computerized patient records immediately.
4. Analyzing patient records to code and collate complex clinical data, interpreting information according to guidelines governing critical care data collection.
5. Participating in national and local research programmes by submitting accurate data.
6. Managing own time to ensure timely and accurate processing of critical care data, complying with deadlines.
7. Collecting, validating, and submitting CCMDS data for payment purposes using established reporting methods.
8. Collecting and submitting quarterly ICNARC case mix programme data.
9. Communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate data collection.
10. Liaising with professional teams and ICNARC to promote efficient data collection and stay updated on developments.
11. Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating across disciplines.
12. Working independently and with clinical teams as needed.
13. Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to Trust guidelines.
14. Participating in relevant training and personal development to stay current with service developments.
