Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Housing Needs Team.
You would be responsible for the efficient and effective management and supervision of officers responsible for the allocation of Council and Registered Provider homes. Ensuring that staff are fully aware of their duties and monitor performance to ensure that Service Unit targets are met, monitor relevant budgets, agreeing overall priorities with Head of Service.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local Register Providers in line with the Council’s Tenancy Strategy, which includes the development of Service Level and Nomination agreements.
Ensure the delivery of an effective housing allocations service, communicate regularly with all key stakeholders in the Housing Service and Registered Providers in line with Service Level Agreements.
Ensure that the service undertakes robust verification of housing register applicants’ circumstances is in accordance with agreed procedures and through use of home visits
Proactively engage with Planning, Registered Providers and the Housing Development team in relation to proposals for new build sites, providing accurate and up to date information to inform decision making.
An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
