Job Title: Construction Teacher
Location: Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF1 4AD
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

About The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Construction Teacher to join our team at Meadowcroft School with the ability to deliver high-quality lessons to students, inspiring learners and equipping them with the practical and theoretical skills needed for the modern construction industry.
We need someone with practical experience of Bricklaying, Joinery, Painting and decorating and Plumbing for our pupils to achieve the trade-based qualifications.
This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a practical, engaging, and personalised curriculum to pupils with complex learning needs. Our learners thrive on creative, hands-on experiences. You\'ll be working in a flexible curriculum environment, using excellent facilities to plan and deliver motivating lessons that support progress, independence, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver practical construction lessons tailored to individual needs
* Plan engaging, differentiated learning activities
* Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging high expectations
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupils with additional needs
* Contribute to wider school development and attend relevant training
* Uphold safeguarding duties and school policies
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Strong belief in every child’s potential to achieve
* Resilience and initiative in a dynamic school environment
* Experience managing challenging behaviour positively
* Excellent planning, communication, and classroom practice
* Team-focused with a commitment to professional development
* Ability to create structured, supportive learning environments

You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit.
