The role: Recovery Support Volunteers can be involved in various aspects of service delivery. It is a front line, client facing role and may involve a focus on one particular area, such as group work or Duty support, or, it may involve a combination of tasks and activities. We are looking for a team player with a willingness to learn. We are seeking Female recovery support volunteers to enable us to create a safe space for vulnerable women in recovery. This exciting volunteer role would suit someone with an empathetic, non-judgmental attitude who can build strong working relationships with others. This is a fantastic opportunity to get hands on experience in a drug and alcohol service and put your passion for supporting and advocating for vulnerable women to great use. Tasks may include: Support people engaged in support with Together to achieve their Recovery Plan goals Support the facilitation of structured and unstructured group work programmes, both virtually and face to face Support and empower individuals to engage in recovery activities, including those provided by Together and the wider community Conduct welfare and check-in phone calls Personal qualities Skills we would like you to bring to the role: Confident IT skills – aside from any IT skills required for the role, some of our mandatory training is done online through eLearning modules Professional, honest and committed Non-judgmental towards people with lived experience Good time keeping Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction An understanding of Waythrough – information is available on our website, and you can call a specific project to make enquiries. Location: The role will be based in Barnstaple Timing: We are looking for someone who can offer around 5-10 hours a week, exact hours can be flexible and discussed at interview. Training: Volunteers have access to Waythrough’s training platform and can book on training relevant to the role, and personal development needs.
