Who are we?
First Marine Solutions (FMS) is a service provider to the renewables and oil & gas sectors, specialising in engineering, design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of mooring systems for floating platforms. FMS also handles marine activities related to floating platforms, such as towage, vessel loadouts, marine assurance, and location planning and consent.
Our group includes First Marine Solutions, First Integrated Solutions, First Subsea, Andrews Survey, Tusk Lifting, First Competence, North Sea Compactors, and Mooring Systems, based across Aberdeen, Montrose, Glasgow, Liverpool, Teesside, Hull, and Lancaster, with around 400 staff.
The Role
Assist in managing the complete lifecycle of projects, from award to close-out.
What will you do?
1. Support project management from award through planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
2. Assist in preparing and completing risk assessments prior to mobilisation.
3. Facilitate handover of bid documentation, ensuring understanding of specifications, contracts, and commercial terms.
4. Monitor project execution, document variations, and ensure timely actions.
5. Participate in quality control to meet client expectations.
6. Advise on project-specific personnel needs.
7. Assist in sourcing and coordinating project equipment.
8. Support client communications and track key performance indicators.
9. Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and QHSE risks.
10. Manage project tasks and administrative duties.
11. Attend site visits and client meetings.
12. Ensure compliance with procedures and quality standards using QMS documentation.
13. Contribute technical input to tenders and bids.
14. Promote company services during client interactions and industry events.
15. Monitor project costs and assist in financial reporting.
16. Collaborate with Finance for accurate financial tracking.
17. Review expenditure to support financial reporting.
18. Provide out-of-hours support when needed.
19. Undertake additional duties as required.
20. Manage tasks to meet deadlines and adapt as needed.
21. Ensure all work complies with company procedures and statutory requirements.
Your Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Experience in offshore survey, positioning, and construction operations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred
* Degree in a relevant discipline or recognised project management qualification; relevant experience may be considered in lieu.
* Familiarity with project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
