We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Transport Junior to join our UK transport operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career within the transport and logistics industry, gaining hands-on experience while supporting our transport planning team.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* Process customer job requests accurately and efficiently.
* Add and manage transport jobs within the company’s Transport Management System (TMS).
* Use port and customer systems to make vehicle bookings.
* Monitor deliveries using vehicle tracking systems and provide updates where required.
* Contact shipping lines to obtain empty container return details.
* Send job information and instructions to drivers and assist with any queries.
* Communicate effectively with customers regarding booking issues, delivery updates, and delays.
* Support senior transport planners with day-to-day operational duties.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all transport information is updated correctly.
* Work closely with drivers, customers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* A willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
* Basic IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* A keen interest in UK container and curtainside transport (desirable).
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
