What You’ll Do
* Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
* Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
* Maintain and develop internal SOX controls.
* Coordinate with external accountants to produce UK statutory accounts and corporation tax analyses.
* Coordinate and complete quarterly and annual audits.
* Manage the daily operations of the finance department and lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals.
* Development of continuous improvement culture.
* Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
* Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
* Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where weaknesses are identified.
* Any further ad-hoc finance duties that may be required.
What It Takes
* Strong working knowledge of integrated ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
* An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, UK reporting requirements, financial regulations, and tax laws.
* The ability to efficiently manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical.
* Analytical and logical with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Strong organisational and leadership skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Qualified CIMA / ACCA or working towards end of qualification.
* A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
