EQUANS are looking for a Technical Supervisor working on our Rotherham Schools contract. This role would be a permanent full‑time position working 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri 9am‑5pm). On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Supervisor will ensure adherence to both statutory and contractual compliance across 14 schools within the Rotherham Schools PFI Estate.
Demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements, while establishing strong working relationships with the team and client.
Develop effective customer relationships, providing the interface and first point of escalation for technical service delivery.
Ensure compliance is accurately documented and consistently applied across all schools within the Rotherham estate.
The individual should be able to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and see them through to completion.

Complexity
The Technical Supervisor will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the contracts, working with and reporting to the Technical Services Manager. They will guide others on site, demonstrating technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to ensure appropriate, compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
* Manage a team of engineers to ensure the in‑house delivery of technical services is efficient, timely, and to a high standard.
* Ensure customer‑focused service delivery, contractual and procedural compliance across the PFI contract.
* Maintain a high level of mechanical, electrical, and other technical disciplines in a hard FM environment.
* Accurate asset management and support in the delivery of lifecycle planning and delivery.
* Undertake RP/AP roles as required by the contract.
* Offer technical support to the business as required.
* Maintain statutory and contractual obligations, accurately documented and compliant with current legislation.
* Manage PPM to meet contractual and statutory timescales.
* Monitor and assess facility performance through PPM programmes, identifying additional works required.
* Organise statutory inspections to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
* Complete Health and Safety audits in line with the agreed programme, including follow‑up action and reporting.
* Staff management including monitoring, induction, and performance actions as necessary.
* Sub‑contractor management with regular meetings.
* Maintain and update records on SharePoint, readily available to stakeholders.
* Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, developing effective relationships with business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Organisational skill to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.
* Administer and complete relevant paperwork.
* Measure work against plans (method statements), read technical diagrams, and communicate, present, and report technical information appropriately.
* Plan and deliver projects to customer specification.
* Plan and implement change to improve service, operational quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Experience in a technical field – electrical, mechanical, gas, water, etc.
* Working knowledge of other services such as support services, administration, finance.
* Experience in people management, sickness, performance, risk management, and compliance.
* Desirable: prior experience with CAD.
* Experience managing subcontractors and maintaining standards.
* Responding to bespoke client or operational requests for information.
* Good working knowledge of standard IT packages.
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
* Well organised and efficient.
* Self‑motivated, capable of working independently.
* Strong oral and written communication.
* Experience analysing data and reporting.
* Minimum of IOSH Working Safely certification.
* Well versed in statutory compliance and reporting.
* Experience with asset management and CAFM systems.
* Experience with life‑cycle management and requirements.
* Experience working within budgets and providing cost‑effective solutions.
