We are currently working with a well-established infrastructure contractor who are looking to appoint a Civil Design Engineer to join their growing design team based in Wakefield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK, working closely with some of the country’s leading utility providers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering civil design solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction, supporting a variety of water and wastewater projects.

The Role
As Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of design solutions across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project, regulatory and client requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing civil design solutions at various project stages
*
Producing design documentation including reports, specifications and calculations
*
Reviewing survey data and developing engineering solutions
*
Attending client meetings and technical discussions when required
*
Supporting site surveys and interpreting survey information
*
Assisting with technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
*
Ensuring designs are delivered in line with project programmes and quality standards
*
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the design team
Requirements
To be considered for this role you should have:
Education / Qualifications
*
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
*
Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (ICE or similar)
Skills / Experience
*
Civil design experience within the UK water or utilities sector
*
Experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects
*
Understanding of industry standards including CIWEM, CESWI and water industry specifications
*
Knowledge of ISO quality and environmental standards
*
Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or InfoDrainage
*
Understanding of hydraulic design principles
*
Knowledge of CDM Regulations
Desirable Experience
*
Hydraulic modelling or profiling experience
*
Experience designing structural elements such as slabs or hardstandings
*
Knowledge of WIMES standards
*
BIM modelling and information management workflows
