Progress Teachers are working with a local mainstream secondary school to appoint a specialist Learning Support Assistant to work closely with pupils with SEMH and/or challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will closely support a caseload of pupils, providing tailored and impactful interventions which will aid them to overcome barriers to education and make positive academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students displaying challenging behaviour, both in and out of the classroom.
* Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCO to implement behaviour intervention strategies.
* Build trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and positive choices.
* Support pupils' emotional well-being, helping them to regulate behaviour and build self-esteem.
* Contribute to Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and track progress effectively.
* Foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with behavioural, SEMH, or SEN needs (essential).
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
* Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to challenges.
* Ability to build rapport quickly and work as part of a supportive team.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 TA qualification, Team Teach or similar) are desirable but not essential.
* A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
