From employee relations to workforce planning, policy development to people engagement, this is a role where you’ll have both influence and autonomy.
You’ll work across a broad remit, advising managers, developing HR processes, and mentoring colleagues – all while helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and wellbeing.

Strategic & Operational HR:
* Collaborate with senior leaders to align people strategies with college objectives.
* Support performance management, workforce planning, and organisational change.
* Deliver HR best practices grounded in evidence and sector regulation.

* Lead on employee relations, safer recruitment, staff wellbeing, and inclusion.
* Mentor and coach line managers and junior HR team members.
* Design and deliver training on people policies and leadership capability.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
* Champion improvements in recruitment, onboarding, and digital HR systems.
* Ensure GDPR, safeguarding, and employment law compliance.
* Support audits, data reporting, and policy development.
Who We’re Looking For
* Proven HR experience in a Business Partner or advisory role, ideally in education or the public sector.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
* Effective communicator with confidence in unionised and regulated settings.
* Ability to manage complex, sensitive cases and balance strategic and day-to-day priorities.
* Experience in the FE sector or public sector.
* Familiarity with HR systems (People First preferred).
* Qualification in HR, Business or a related field.
What Success Looks Like
* Strong feedback from stakeholders on People & Culture support.
* Effective resolution of ER cases.
* Compliance with safeguarding and recruitment standards.
* Measurable improvements in employee engagement and retention.
Why Work With Us?
