Role Overview
Band 5 Occupational Therapist for a fixed‑term temporary position at the East Cheshire NHS Trust, supporting a 4‑month rotation schedule across various clinical areas including Orthopaedics, Hand Therapy Outpatients, Rheumatology, Surgery, Medicine and OPAL.
Responsibilities
Rotate through clinical areas, conduct assessments of patients, develop treatment plans, and work autonomously under guidance of Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists.
Identify patient problems, set goals, provide appropriate treatment plans and progression, and maintain accurate clinical reasoning and documentation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registration
* BSc (Hons) degree in OT or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of a range of assessment tools & interventions relevant to a broad range of patients
* Awareness of recent NHS legislation, recommendations
* Awareness of national & local priorities and changing trends
* Ability to make appropriate decisions
* Ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to work autonomously & as part of a team
* Proactive, takes own initiative
* Supportive team member
* Reflective practice
* A basic knowledge of the service / Trust values & objectives
* Completion of in‑house competency frameworks / relevant post‑graduate courses
* Audit skills
Experience
* Experience of contributing to individual & group interventions for patients & settings relevant to the role
* Broad range of clinical experience
* Experience contributing to audit / research

Disability & Visa
Requires an Enhanced DBS check with barred lists; overseas police clearance required if lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
