Specialist Assessment and Treatment Services (SATs) & Adolescent Unit,
Brooklands Hospital, Marston Green, Birmingham
Position: Clinical Psychologist
Full-time, permanent
Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives and enjoy working creatively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team? We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to join our inpatient services for people with Intellectual Disabilities at Brooklands Hospital, covering the Specialist Assessment and Treatment service for adults and adolescents.
Psychologists in our services are fully integrated within collaborative teams, working on service development, delivering training, and developing interventions. The role involves clinical assessments, individual and group therapies, team formulation, reflective practice, staff support, and contributing to service development projects, audits, and research.
Our team values the contribution of psychological services and is involved in innovative solutions to service needs. We offer opportunities to utilize a broad range of psychological skills and experiences.
The SATs & CAMHS Psychological Services team is part of a wider, well-established Psychological Services team at Brooklands, which provides ongoing support, supervision, and training. Our clinical interests include CBT, DBT, and Compassion Focused approaches.
Positive Behavioral Support is central to our treatment philosophy, emphasizing evidence-based interventions for individuals presenting significant risks, aiming for reintegration into less restrictive community environments.
We have received positive feedback from patients, carers, and professionals, and our services have been recognized with awards, including being shortlisted for the Royal College of Psychiatry Intellectual Disability team of the year and the CWPT Quality Award for Improvement and Innovation.
Our services maintain strong links with local clinical psychology training courses, offering placements, supervision, and teaching opportunities, and collaborate with Community Learning Disability and Intensive Support teams across Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull.
