Main duties of the job

Due to the current national focus on children’s services an exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the development of CYPMHS service in Wirral in response to this challenge.

As a member of the clinical team, you will independently provide specialist mental health assessments with children & young people with complex mental health needs. In collaboration with the MDT, as well as the young person and their family, you will develop formulations and advise on treatment pathways appropriate to clinical need. You will also offer advice on appropriate support and signposting.

You will undertake preventative aspects of service delivery such as offering consultation and expert advice to other professionals and participating in training programmes.

This role does not involve delivery of therapeutic interventions; however, opportunities may be available to work on ad hoc basis with 0‑18 CYPMHS.

This role will entail high throughput, but you will be joining a highly motivated team and supportive leadership structure.

You must have computer skills as all systems are electronic.

Qualifications

• Professional Registration with recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England)
• Nationally recognised post‑qualification, continuous professional development (CPD) related to the core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional)
• Therapeutic Training to intermediate / diploma level

Knowledge and Expertise

• Demonstrable working knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Family Therapy
• Knowledge of Child Protection workings and Practice
• Working knowledge of Children related legislation
• Experience of inter‑agency working
• Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Care / Treatment Plans
• Experience of working with Students/ Learners
• Experience of providing clinical supervision

Experience

• Significant post qualification experience of working within CYPMHS or Child Mental Health related field
• Recognised experience of working within an environment where evidence based interventions have been delivered
• Undertaking formal and informal clinical risk assessments and risk management planning
• Undertaking Mental Health Assessments
• Keyboard skills, including using databases, Microsoft Office and clinical systems
• Post qualifying experience of working within NHS community CAMHS

Salary

£38,682 to £46,580 a year per annum pro rata
