With our people at our heart, we are a team of 40 Geotechnical, Geo-environmental, Civil Engineers with team members also specialising in Ecology, Procurement, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Project Management.
Role Overview
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside senior members of the commercial team, assisting with the financial and contractual management of civil engineering projects from inception to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
* Support the management of subcontractor procurement and payments.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly valuations, cost reports and forecasts.
* Monitor and manage project costs to ensure budgets are maintained.
* Help assess variations, claims, and final accounts.
* Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* 1–3 years of experience in a similar role (ideally within the UK construction industry).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts is desirable.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with cost management software is a plus.
* Full UK driving licence (if site travel is required).
