ElectricianYork£38,000 - £41,000 + Van + Fuel CardThe RoleWinner Recruitment are currently seeking a skilled and safety-driven Electrician on behalf of a well-established building maintenance company. This role involves delivering high-quality electrical installations, servicing, and maintenance across Planned Works, Voids, and Responsive Maintenance (RM) programmes.Working across domestic and occupied properties, you will ensure all electrical systems meet current IET Wiring Regulations and client specifications. You'll play a key role in delivering first-time fixes, while maintaining a strong focus on customer care, compliance, and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations within domestic and commercial propertiesDeliver works across voids and planned programmes, including rewires, consumer unit replacements, smoke alarms, ventilation fans, shower circuits, and general remedialsAttend responsive maintenance call-outs, diagnosing faults and ensuring safe isolation and first-time resolutionConduct inspection and testing, completing EICRs and associated remedial worksEnsure all works comply with BS7671 (current IET Wiring Regulations)Maintain accurate records via PDA/mobile device, including certification, materials, and time trackingCommunicate effectively with residents, clients, and colleagues to ensure excellent service deliveryLiaise with Electrical Supervisors regarding technical issues, materials, and job progressCarry out on-site risk assessments and follow safe systems of workComply with all Health & Safety, environmental, and company policiesSupport and mentor apprentices or junior electricians where requiredParticipate in the out-of-hours call-out rota on a rotational basisAbout YouProven experience as a qualified Electrician within domestic repairs, maintenance, or social housingNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (City & Guilds)18th Edition (BS7671) certification2391 or 2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualificationExperience with electrical heating systems (panel and storage heaters)Knowledge of electric cookers and cooking circuitsStrong ability to carry out installations, testing, and fault finding independentlyExcellent understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including safe isolationConfident communicator with a professional approach to customer interactionCompetent using PDA/mobile job management systemsFull, clean UK driving licenceMust hold (or be eligible for) SC clearance and meet BPSS requirementsDesirableExperience within Planned Works, Voids, or Responsive Maintenance environmentsBackground working with MOD, local authority, or housing association contractsAdditional certifications such as Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, or Manual HandlingKnowledge of PAS 2035/2038 retrofit and decarbonisation projectsExperience mentoring apprentices or supporting team developmentPersonal AttributesProfessional, polite, and customer-focusedReliable, punctual, and self-motivatedStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and pride in workmanshipFlexible and adaptable approachCommitted to safety, quality, and continuous improvementWhat's in it for you?£38,000 - £41,00023 days' holiday + Bank HolidaysCompany vehicle and fuel cardPDA and uniform providedLong service awardsPerkbox benefits (free coffees, cinema tickets, retail discounts & more)1 paid volunteer day per yearApply TodayIf you're a qualified Electrician looking to join a reputable contractor with strong values and long-term opportunities, apply now with Winner RecruitmentTPBN1_UKTJ
