Overview
This role is within the Programme Organisation dedicated to the delivery of obligations to our Poland MoD customer. You will oversee the commercial matters across a portfolio of contracts delivering world‑leading defence capabilities for the Poland Armed Forces. You will provide leadership across our teams in the preparation, negotiation, implementation and performance of commercial matters across the entire life cycle of our Poland contracts. You will ensure consistency across contracts and provide commercial guidance to internal teams, and manage risk and opportunity to safeguard MBDA’s interests. "Key activities on a day‑to‑day basis" will vary in this fast‑paced environment, but you are likely to complete the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Contract Delivery – be part of the management team of the delivery chain to ensure MBDA meets its commitments to the customer, including contract management tasks, change management, problem solving and administration.
* Negotiations – guide and mentor teams to gain acceptance and agreement on issues and amendments to ensure contractual compliance within agreed boundaries.
* Build and maintain senior relationships with new and existing customer stakeholders and industry partners, focusing on collaboration.
* Interface with internal and external stakeholders.
* Represent the Group Head of Poland Programmes in progress reviews and/or customer meetings.
* Provide leadership for commercial matters related to the growth of MBDA Polska, including commercial guidance to MBDA in‑country leadership and broader teams.
* Work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
* Promote best practice and functional excellence.
* Business Winning – provide Poland Programmes commercial input and coordination to support winning of new contracts, agreements and opportunities.
* Travel to MBDA offices and customer locations in Poland on a regular basis as required.
* Advanced negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
* Good process management and experience of managing highly complex and value contracts.
* Effective team behaviours, influencing and teamwork skills.
* Experience in a broad range of commercial issues and lifecycle contract management.
* Commercial understanding from customer through to supplier, with awareness of Intellectual Property protection.
* Excellent understanding of contract law and its applicability.
* Understanding liabilities and mitigating risk; problem solving and providing resolutions.
* Willingness to provide continuous support to senior internal and external customers.
* Proactive in leading improvement opportunities and balancing risk while analysing situations and presenting possibilities.
Requirements
* Experience in managing complex and high‑value contracts.
* Experience across contract lifecycle management and related commercial issues.
* Strong commercial acumen from customer to supplier perspectives.
* Understanding of Intellectual Property protection and its applicability.
* Proven ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and travel as required (to Poland).
