Level: NQ – Senior Associate (depending on experience)
About the Opportunity
Harkaye Core Talent is recruiting for an experienced Child Care Solicitor to join a well-established children law team.
This role is suited to a solicitor who is confident conducting their own advocacy and enjoys representing clients directly in court, delivering high-quality, child-focused legal advice and representation.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of public law children matters, with responsibility for advocacy at all stages of proceedings.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a caseload of public law children matters from start to conclusion
* Conducting your own advocacy in the Family Court
* Representing parents, guardians, or other parties in care proceedings
* Drafting applications, statements, and court documentation
* Advising clients with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
* Attending hearings, case management conferences, and contested hearings
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
* Maintaining high standards of client care and compliance
About You
You must:
* Be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales
* Have demonstrable advocacy experience in child care proceedings (essential)
* Have strong experience in public law children matters
* Be confident appearing in court and managing your own hearings
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Approach sensitive matters with professionalism and compassion
Children Panel membership (or working towards it) would be highly advantageous.
