Job Summary
Lead Pharmacist - Acute Medicine & Pharmacy Education & Training
We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join our team. If you are passionate about helping others grow and develop and want to advance your clinical skills, this could be the perfect role. Working closely with the lead pharmacist for the medicine division, you will develop clinical pharmacy services for acute medicine. In your education and training role, you will work within the pharmacy education, training, and workforce team to design, deliver, and support training, providing educational supervision to pharmacy staff and the wider MDT. This role will be pivotal in embedding pharmacist prescribers into the acute medical team. If you have not completed your independent prescribing qualification, we will support you to do so.
Main duties of the job
* Manage and deliver pharmacy education and training programs under the direction of the lead pharmacist for education, training, and workforce.
* Facilitate and deliver training; act as a clinical tutor for trainee and foundation pharmacists; develop pharmacy practice-based research.
* Act as an advanced clinical pharmacist in acute medicine, ensuring accuracy, legality, safety, and efficacy of prescribed medication.
* Support compliance with medicines regulations and manage related training for operational staff.
* Lead on regulatory audits and ensure facilities and services meet standards.

* Expand and develop clinical pharmacy services in acute medicine.
* Act as an advanced pharmacy practitioner, planning care and ensuring safe medication use.
* Provide specialist services, check prescriptions, and support clinical decision-making.
* Work towards becoming an Independent Prescriber and develop this role.
* Contribute to service development, policies, and collaboration with other care pathways.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* M Pharm Degree or equivalent, GPhC registration
* Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or similar
* Ongoing professional development (CPD)

* Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership
