Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and motivational Tutors to support Year 11 learners in the DT6 area (Bridport and surrounding Dorset locations). This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced educators who want flexible, rewarding work helping students prepare for GCSE or Functional Skills exams.
✨ The Role
You will provide tailored 1:1 or small‑group tuition in:
1. GCSE Maths
2. GCSE English
3. Functional Skills Maths & English
Your responsibilities include:
4. Planning and delivering engaging, confidence‑building lessons
5. Tracking and reporting learner progress
6. Supporting exam preparation and study skills
7. Encouraging motivation and a positive learning attitude
8. Maintaining accurate attendance and session notes
🎓 About You
We’re looking for Tutors who are:
9. Experienced in supporting GCSE or Functional Skills learners
10. Confident teaching Maths and/or English to exam level
11. Patient, adaptable and empathetic
12. Able to build rapport and work with learners who may have gaps in learning or lower confidence
13. Professional, reliable and well‑organised
14. Experience with SEN/SEMH is beneficial but not essential
📍 Location & Hours
15. DT6 – Bridport & surrounding Dorset areas
16. Up to 15 hours per week (Work with additional learners to increase hours)
17. Flexible daytime availability (school‑hour friendly)
18. Opportunities for additional learners if desired
💷 Pay
19. £25-£30 per hour (dependent on experience)
✔ Requirements
To work through Prospero Teaching, you must:
20. Have the right to work in the UK
21. Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
22. Have at least 1 year of experience in a UK school or tutoring environment
23. Be able to provide professional references
24. Have up‑to‑date Safeguarding Training (or be happy to complete this)
