The Underwriting Operations Technician will oversee the administration of Marine and Energy insurance accounts and contracts. This includes establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the insurance accounts and management of the related cash flow. You will support the underwriters in all activities related to the underwriting process.
Duties and responsibilities
* Responsible for entries (binder and/or facultative) in in-house system.
* Check contractual documents, submit them to Underwriters for signature and draw their attention in case of ambiguities or changes
* Creation of MRCE Endorsements
* Check and process of accounts and claims advices
* Clarify discrepancies of accounts with underwriters/ cedents/ brokers
* Processing of outgoing/ incoming payments.
* Perform internal controls oversight
* Monitor client accounts / statistics by using internal reports (Business Objects) and perform own data analysis
* Support Underwriters with tailored reports and statistics (Business Objects)
* Ensure compliance with sanctions.
* Ensure completeness and proper filing of underwriting and accounting documentation.
What you need to show…
* Solid experience from an Underwriting Assistant and/or Technical background
* Knowledge of Lloyds/ London Market Insurance practices
* Good knowledge of Marine and/or Energy Insurance
* Strong affinity with underwriting / Accounting systems and MS Excel.
* Business Objects skills beneficial
* Advanced analytical skills and accuracy
* Advanced communication and team collaboration skills
* A desire to learn and acquire new skills.
What you need to know:
* Permanent role
* Based in the City of London with 2 days per week working from home.
* Salary between £40,000 and £45,000 + annual bonus & benefits package
