He successful candidate will have:
Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
A strong SEN background, with specific experience supporting pupils with ASD and DS
Makaton training and the ability to use it confidently in the classroom
Read Write Inc. training and experience supporting early reading and phonics
The ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils and staff
A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning and behaviour
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
Supporting communication, language, and emotional development
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
