Job Description
An established multi-office law firm is looking to recruit a Care Paralegal to join its busy Bedford office. This role would suit a motivated and compassionate individual with experience or a strong interest in public family law and care proceedings.
Working closely with experienced solicitors, the successful candidate will assist on a varied caseload involving Children Act matters and provide both legal and administrative support within a supportive team environment.Key Responsibilities
* Assisting solicitors with care proceedings and public family law matters
* Preparing legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence
* Attending client meetings and taking instructions
* Liaising with courts, counsel, local authorities, and external agencies
* Managing file administration and ensuring compliance requirements are met
* Assisting with legal aid applications and billing processes
* Providing high levels of client care and support throughout proceedings
* Supporting the wider team with administrative and legal tasks where required
About You
* Previous paralegal experience within Care, Family, or Public Law desirable
* Knowledge of legal aid funding processes advantageous
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
* Ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities
* Professional, reliable, and client-focused approach
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
