Generous death in service/life assurance benefit Role Background This post is a new position that will support BDC Mind to build on the success and learning from Bradford 2025’s Mental Health Engagement Programme, which supported hundreds of people living with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) to access cultural events, creative activities and artist-led experiences across the district. People accessing the events through Bradford 2025’s programme described improved confidence, reduced isolation and greater emotional wellbeing as a result of engaging with creativity in safe, supported ways. The new service, known temporarily as Creative Connections, takes this work further by creating a sustainable, long-term model that embeds creativity into people’s lives – shifting from one-off attendance towards continuous engagement, independent participation, and ultimately the creation of original artwork. The service is designed to remove the practical, emotional, cultural and access barriers that often prevent people with an SMI from taking part in creative opportunities. Role Purpose This role will report into our Service Manager and work within our Adults and Older Adults portfolio, drawing on established experience in creative, nature-based and community-led approaches. As Service Coordinator, you will support the Service Manager to lead the development and implementation of the new “Creative Connections” service, providing a real opportunity for innovation. This will involve mapping creative opportunities across Bradford District and Craven, brokering relationships between the creative and mental health sectors, and ensuring that participants, volunteers and partners receive the support they need to engage safely and confidently. You will build on extensive networks already formed through Bradford 2025, while shaping a sustainable future that empowers volunteers, strengthens community partnerships, and ensures that people with an SMI can continue engaging independently. As the Service Coordinator, you will manage x2 Practitioners and work alongside the Service Manager to focus on service performance, engagement, oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the service reaches the required standards via our quality assurance framework. Through compassionate leadership, partnership building and innovative thinking, you will help ensure that creativity becomes a meaningful, empowering part of people’s lives, enhancing wellbeing, confidence, independence and long-term community connection. Role Outcomes Support the Service Manager to ensure efficient service delivery and high‑quality care aligned with operational goals. Foster a high‑performing team through clear communication and proactive problem‑solving approach. Maintain a safe, supportive environment by identifying, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns, and working with multi‑agency partners. Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting to support informed decision‑making, continuous improvement and compliance with data protection standards. Oversee staff rotas, scheduling and absence management to ensure consistent service delivery. Support the Service Manager to lead your team in alignment with organisational mission, objectives, policies and core values: Caring Always, Working Together, Supporting Everyone, Enabling All and Continually Improving. Provide direct support sessions when required and help maintain staffing levels to meet service demands. Participate in the on‑call rota to ensure staff have access to support and guidance out of hours. Engage actively in supervision, team meetings and company events to support a well‑connected and informed team environment. Complete all mandatory and role‑specific training (safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, mental health awareness). Adapt to evolving organisational and service needs by taking on additional responsibilities as required. Promote inclusion, diversity and equity in the development and delivery of services. Actively represent and promote the service, contributing positively to the public image of BDC Mind.
